Some Questions Have Pretty Obvious Answers

From June 9, 2014 Gallup:
In U.S., Depression Rates Higher for Long-Term Unemployed
There are people for whom unemployment is something of a paid vacation -- but I suspect that they are people who are able and willing to dramatically reduce their cost of living.  For most people, long-term unemployment is hell.  I do not doubt that some of the dramatic increase in long-term disability is because a lot of workers (especially older workers) can't get jobs, and depression both makes it harder to get jobs, and then becomes an excuse for the government to transfer them from unemployment to disability.

This is not an effective long-term strategy, but what the Democrats care?  As long as someone is working, they can just run up income tax rates on that person to cover the costs.  Right?
